About us.

Founded in 2001, Chrysalis works in conjunction with senior medical and nursing staff from the North Wales NHS Trust and provides a service which incorporates information, counselling and support. We currently deliver a service to children and families in the areas of Flintshire, Conwy and Denbighshire and it is Chrysalis’ aim, as funding allows, to provide a comprehensive service throughout North Wales.

Chrysalis has a board of Trustees who come from a variety of professional backgrounds and include two bereaved parents and a parent who accessed the service when her daughter had a diagnosis of a life threatening condition. Chrysalis’ patron is the Right Honourable Dafydd Wigley.

Chrysalis counsellors are professional qualified and members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  Counselling sessions are confidential and are provided in a safe environment. Chrysalis has a dedicated counselling room within Glan Clwyd Hospital and home visits can be arranged.

Chrysalis works in partnership with the Alder Centre at The Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital.
